Tell us your Vinyl Story
I’ve always been heavily interested in music as a whole, and I’ve become fascinated with production systems and sound quality lately. I also find myself quite frustrated about what mainstream music has now become, and that my own generation is drifting far away from the authentic listening experience. I fell in love with the idea of a hands-on experience, which ultimately directed my interest towards vinyl. After convincing my parents that this was a worthy investment, I began collecting records three months ago starting with ‘Nothing Happens’ and ‘Tell Me That It’s Over’ by Wallows. While my collection is small, I hope to expand over the next few years with albums that all hold immense, personal value to me.
Which is the most valuable record in your collection?
The Weeknd - After Hours Collector’s Edition 001

Tell us about your turntable setup.
We recently purchased a Pro-Ject Primary E Phono and Edifier R1700BTs from TRC itself! We bought it very recently, and I currently have it set up in my room itself. Safe to say, it has easily been the greatest purchase I’ve ever made.

Any advice to people that are about to start their collection?
Perhaps start off with buying records before a turntable. Explore which albums you truly connect with and take time to see if you’re genuinely invested in vinyl as a concept. Take a lot of time to research the workings of a turntable, and definitely don’t go way overboard for your first setup!
