Sriram Raghavan: Bollywood's Master Of Suspense
There is no lack of quality intelligent thrillers today for the audience. Even though the popularization of this kind of content is mostly credited to Anurag Kashyap, there have been other directors as well whose work has been just as crucial in pushing the boundaries of Bollywood.
You could see Sriram Raghavan’s prowess as a director from his debut film “Ek Hasina Thi” (2004), a fantastic thriller that always kept the audience wondering what will happen next, eventually leaving them speechless at the jaw-dropping climax.
The success of the film inspired him to make “Johnny Gaddaar” (2007) which doubled the thrills, suspense, and excitement, eventually leading to his magnum opus “Andhadhun” (2018) a masterpiece that stunned everyone when it was first released, whose edge of the seat, open-ended climax is still debated upon by fans today.

Sacred Games, Paatal Lok, Mirzapur, and even Dhrishyam among many others have all been influenced in some way or the other by Sriram Raghavan. He has played a crucial role in the development of independent cinema in India.
