Louis Banks, the legendary jazz pianist from Bombay, India teamed up with Saxophonist Braz Gonsalves and vocalist Pam Crain for a memorable live performance at Kalamandir, Calcutta in 1978. The three Indian jazz stalwarts along with another two legends, jazz guitarist Carlton Kitto and percussionist Ramesh Shotham delivered an amazing jazz funk fusion set consisting of originals and standards, augmented by the use of Indian instruments. The live concert was captured by HMV through a makeshift studio set up at the green room and later released on vinyl LP in 1978. The original copies of the record are ultra-rare now and change hands at about 400-500 Euros in the collectors' circle!
